Miralynne, aka Mira, is the youngest of the Lannisters, playing in the 

Dynasty of Dragons

Game-of-Thrones-themed sim in Second Life. 

Given she's a Lannister, Red and Gold are her colours, and today, 

she's put together a "Golden Child" outfit.

Lys has been exploring fashion, a little bit.

She's of a house that is not made of money, and so,

she spends what money she has, on tailoring.

A Maiden in a Garden

Two roads diverged in a spring wood,

though one seemed autum-struck.

My Sun and Stars

This dress has been one of my favourites for nearly a year. I purchased it on my other avatar, and just found it so utterly sexy, slinky, and yet - perfectly, all-covering (once you add a modesty layer). 

This dress, to me, encompasses the "My Sun and Stars" nickname in GoT - it's beautiful and mysterious, and flattering... just stunning.

Introducing Alyssandra Tarth

I'm an RP nerd. 

Big Time.

I'm currently playing at Realms of Ice and Fire: King's Landing, playing the character of Alyssandra Tarth, a bannerhouse to the Baratheons.

Lys, as I've nicknamed, my character, is sweet, pensive, pays attention, and generally, wishes for her family to succeed.

I've rather fallen in love with Game of Thrones (GoT) fashion, and, while of course we'll never have it quite as to the tee as the TV show or the books, I think our creators are doing wonderful work, here in SL! So, I thought I'd start showing off Lys's clothes!

I saw The Hobbit about a week ago, and must say, Cate Blanchett gets more and more beautiful in every role I see her. She was STUNNING as Galadriel, once again.

And then I came into SL and realized that the White Armory had released a new gown, called "Galadrial of Noldar'.

The first time I saw this dress, I stared for a good five minutes, trying to decide whether I loved it or hated it.

Many visits back to the store to buy the dresses around it, caused me the same meditation.

I finally decided, what the hell, and bought it.

52 WOCC ... just can't do it.

Last night, I sat at my computer, searching my inventory for aqua clothing, props, whatever. I searched Marketplace. I searched fashion blogs. And I just could not find anything that I really wanted to wear... because I've been thinking so much about the shooting in Colorado this week.

I'm in Canada. In a relatively safe part of it... and shit like that doesn't happen here. I'm shaken by it. I don't understand it, and I can't... I can't ... fathom.... such horror. I'm truly blessed.

I've read and heard, a billion times, that "every behaviour makes sense"... and I do believe that, whether or not I think the REASONING is good sound reasoning. Somewhere in that sick shooter's head, there's a reason for this... whether or not he's aware of it, doesn't matter. Somewhere in his history, there was a trigger... don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying it. Hell no. He deserves to work in a salt mine for the remainder of his very very long life. I don't believe in the death penalty- I think he should live, and fucking SUFFER. Work hard. Work long hours. Toil. EARN his repentance. 

But I just could not... dress up... for today. All I wanted to do was wear black, and speak out. And so I am. 

My thoughts, prayers, wishes, and Light go to the families of the victims, and to those that are injured, in any way, from this horrific incident. My love to those who may need it so much in this terrible time. 

Stop the fucking violence.

You always see me in very ... well, in dresses, or over-the-top looks. I never just wear normal clothes in SL... and I suppose that's because I wear normal clothes in RL. I'm a curvy pervy in real life, and finding amazing clothes that are my size can be difficult (that is, until I discovered Torrid.com. Seriously. Go. Shop. Feel happy.) So when I play in SL, my avatar is my paper doll, that I can dress up in all of the things I'll never be able to wear.

This week, though... I wanted something easy-going, that would reflect the summer that FINALLY got here... gods, the summer has sucked so far, but now it's SUNNY!!! Yay!
